Celebrity friendships are surprising because we often discover the most unlikely pair are the closest. Once again, a new duo is knocking our socks off as fans speculate their relationship could be more than platonic. Noah Cyrus 22, and Demi Lovato, 29, were caught holding hands recently, surprising fans because Lovato is seemingly feuding with Miley Cyrus (Noah’s older sister.)
Long-Standing Beef Between Demi And Miley
In 2008, when Miley posted a mocking video of Lovato on YouTube, it rubbed the Heart Attack singer wrong. It didn’t matter that Lovato and their then-best friend Selena Gomez previously shared a goofy video of themselves. Miley reposting a parody video with her bestie Mandy Jiroux pissed them off.
Although Miley took the video off her channel and apologized, tensions remain with Lovato. It didn’t help that the two entertainers spouted negativity against each other over the years. Since they’re both queer, some fans speculate they’re bitter exes who probably hooked up during their Disney era.
Like Sister, Like Friend
Considering the fact that Miley and Demi have similar characteristics and ideologies, we can see how the pair butt heads often. It also explains why Noah would form a friendship with Demi. In 2012, during their Seventeen interview, the Sorry Not Sorry singer alluded to this similarity, saying, “Miley and I are strong-headed. When we fight, it’s brutal, and we’re like, ‘We’re never going to be friends again!’ Then two days later, we’re like, ‘I love you and I miss you!’”
Dating Rumors
Although Noah hasn’t revealed any specific sexuality like Lovato, her connection with queer celebrities in the past makes people speculate that she’s queer. She was linked with celebrity YouTuber Tana Mongeau who’s openly pansexual, dated Jake Paul, and actress Bella Thorne. Also, her new “friend” Demi is a non-binary queer individual, so there’s that. Others speculate that their relationship may be business-oriented as both parties are musicians with powerful voices. The duo hasn’t teased or hinted at any new music, although they performed at YouTube’s pride event together in June.
How Is Miley Taking The News
Having a close relationship with her sister, we know Miley is in on the 411, whatever it may be. She, however, hasn’t spoken publicly about the situation and whether it makes her uncomfortable that her nemesis is linked to her baby sister. Miley and Noah spent the holidays together, even performing at Miley’s NYE party co-hosted with Pete Davidson. We know the Malibu singer would never bite her tongue on matters such as this one, so when there’s something to say, we’ll hear it.
