HIGH cholesterol is behind a host of life-threatening conditions but remains hard to detect in the early stages due to an absence of symptoms. Certain foods, notably those rich in saturated fats, are advised against when trying to manage the condition. There is increasing evidence, however, that a lack of certain nutrients may also contribute to the condition.
