She's still got it. Almost 14 years since she won her first medal at the Olympics as an all-around champion, and 32-year-old Nastia Liukin can still deliver a flawless flip. The iconic gymnast shared her morning routine with one million-plus Instagram followers and added some gymnastics at the tail of the video to remind everyone why she's at the top of the food chain.
She balanced on the beam like old times and flipped on one leg like it was nothing!
Liukin's Legs Still FlyAlthough this post is a sponsored ad, you can still see the determination and meticulousness of Nastia preparing her coffee. That explains why she excelled at her chosen profession all those years ago. The 32-year-old wrote a long caption explaining her love for coffee and why Pellini is the best.
After her morning ritual, Nastia dressed in her signature pink style though she added blue leggings and bra top to the pink jacket.
"This coffee is so special! It reminds me of being in Italy. I love to make my morning coffee ritual slow and purposeful, setting my intentions and finding a bit of stillness before the day begins."Nastia Liukin CupBefore eventually retiring. In partnership with USA Gymnastics, Liukin brought her life-long dream to life by starting the Nastia Liukin Cup (previously known as Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup) in 2010 as an opportunity to create something highly competitive for the junior gymnasts in the country so they can get the recognition they deserve. Starting with 36 participants in the first run, the NLC has become an annual event with notable competitors like Gabby Douglas and MyKayla Skinner through the years. The 13th event this year was held at Frisco, Texas, on the 25th of February and was streamed on the USA Gymnastics YouTube and Olympic Channel and was concluded with two winners; Senior All-Around Champion, Jamison Sears, and Junior All-Around Champio, Kamila Pawlak.
Liukin's AchievementsDuring her active time in sports, Liukin recorded many impressive wins and was well known for her craft. In 2008, the athlete was crowned the Olympic All-Around champion against Shawn Johnson and Yang Yilin from USA and China. She was also recognized as the American gymnast to have won the most medals in a single game, alongside Shannon Miller. With other championships in the bag, the gymnast has also appeared in a couple of TV shows like Stick It, Gossip Girl, and Hellcats. She had an admirable career as a gymnast and is now known to be on a Senior International Elite level and an idol to upcoming athletes.
Liukin's RetirementThe athlete retiring at 22 came as a shock to everyone as she was still at the peak of her career, but after she fell face flat during a tryout for the 2012 Olympic team, she felt it was right for her. After the fall, the gymnast didn't make it to the competition, and the incident made her "evaluate what was truly important," as she told Bustle. She announced her retirement after that and focused on other things such as the Nastia Liukin Cup and Nastia Liukin Fund as her way of giving back to the community that raised and made her. Liukin is also a writer and an entrepreneur now, doing well for herself.
