For everyone taking note this season, pink seems to be one of the preferred colors in many brand’s campaigns, with many celebrities incorporating the hue into their red carpet looks as the Oscar race heats up.
Not to be outdone in the continuing pink parade was Oscar winner and current nominee Penélope Cruz, who arrived at the annual Oscar luncheon for nominees in one of the many lauded looks from Chanel’s latest campaign.

Aside from Cruz at the event, other actresses nominated for their work last year were also in attendance, including fellow nominees Jessica Chastain, Ariana DeBose, and Kristen Stewart. Cruz had one of the best accessories with her in husband Javier Bardem, who is also nominated this year for his work co-starring with Nicole Kidman in Being The Ricardos.

Fans of Chanel will immediately note that the tweed minidress that Cruz was wearing was fresh off the runway from the brand’s recent Spring Collection, and features a sleeveless silhouette with two very large front pockets, with the signature Chanel double-C logo front and center. To complete the look, she accessorized with one of Chanel’s popular black quilted handbags. All told? Cruz chose an outfit that was fresh, very much seasonal, and event appropriate – a gift to her more than 5 million Instagram followers worldwide.
A Nominee’s Right To Shoes
The star of Loving Pablo chose to don a pair of black velvet platform heels that featured a thin ankle strap and a raised platform sole. At roughly 5 inches, the stilettos were a nice match to her pink ensemble and the natural hue only enhanced her overall look.

This spring, heeled sandals are making a huge comeback on red carpets and other high-profile events, namely for the glamorous style they exude in addition to the comfort and support thanks to the thicker soles and secure straps.
