Lea Bouard might be an elite athlete but she has no problem trying out other careers, especially if it's for a good cause.
In an Instagram post, where she was captured wearing a metallic bikini, the Olympian revealed that she had to sacrifice training and work as a waitress for a while. Lea was positively cheery about her experience but there's more to say about her story.

Part-Time WaitressIn a photograph shared last year, Bouard detailed the reason why she had to temporarily switch careers.
Sporting a metallic bikini, Lea was smiling brightly on her "day off", per her caption. "I’ve been working everyday as a waitress and I put all my energy into it to be the best with everybody’s soul," she wrote in her post, explaining her absence from intensive training.
According to Lea, she had been helping her brother, who bought a restaurant shortly before the pandemic began.
A Reliable SisterBecause of the widespread lockdowns, there was a short supply of people coming in, eventually leading to the temporary closure of their business.
Bouard, however, proved that she was someone her family could rely on.
"But the most important thing for me this last month was to help my brother, and to grow with him in something different and new," she continued.
"I am really upset for my brother because he put everything he had in it and all his energy to begin his new life. Sometimes life is unfair.. but many people are in the same case, we have to support each other in these tough times!"
Mental TrainingLife hasn't been easy on Bouard's family these past years. She also shared that her grandfather passed away last year, which led her to take a small mental health break to regain her focus.
The athlete believes that mental health is linked to physical health. When she is feeling down, her metabolism is affected, which makes training difficult. It is important to listen to your needs and take necessary breaks, says Lea, who followed her own advice.
After a much-needed break, she indeed came back even stronger and was back to doing her famous flips on the slopes.
Positive MindsetLike a true competitive athlete, the German skier has an unbreakable spirit. Her secret – just keep going!
"here's no secret on how to attain a greater height, just keep climbing the ladder, don't look at the dreadful distance, lock up that negative thoughts today, and fulfil your dreams," she captioned her pic above.
