Archaeology breakthrough: Ancient sea reptile fossil found is oldest of its kind

A vertebra from a nothosaur, a type of marine reptile that swam in the seas at the beginning of the Age of Dinosaurs, was found 46 years ago in New Zealand and has now been identified as the oldest ever discovered in the Southern Hemisphere.
