Shameless aired on Showtime for an impressive 10 years and 11 seasons with a star-studded cast, including William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Cameron Monaghan, and Noel Fisher. And, ever since the series went off the air in April 2021, fans have been calling for its return.
Although a 12th season of the show doesn’t appear to be a possibility, at least at this time, viewers of the long-running dark comedy can keep up with their favorite actors and actresses as they move on to new projects.
William H. Macy Will Be Featured In ‘The Dropout’
According to a report shared by People earlier this year, Macy, who starred as Frank Gallagher, the alcoholic absent father of five children, followed up his performance in Shameless with a role in The Dropout.
In June, just two months after Shameless came to an end, Deadline reported that Macy would be starring alongside the likes of Laurie Metcalf, Elizabeth Marvel, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Kate Burton in the Hulu series, which was set to begin production on its first season sometime this summer.
Emmy Rossum Landed A Starring Role In ‘Angelyne’
Emmy Rossum played Fiona Gallagher, who served as a mother-figure for her four younger siblings. However, she wasn’t featured on all 11 seasons of Shameless. instead, she announced her exit from the show in August 2018. Since then, she’s appeared in projects, including A Futile and Stupid Gesture and Cold Pursuit, as well as Angelyne, which featured Rossum in the starring role of a Barbie-like character living in Los Angeles.
The program began streaming on NBCUniversal’s Peacock in July of last year.
Cameron Monaghan Has Starred On Several TV Shows
Monaghan, who starred in Shameless as the character known as Ian Gallagher, who dropped out of high school and enlisted in the military before marrying Mickey Milkovich, who was played by Fisher, has seen tons of success since making his debut on the Showtime series.
In addition to appearances on Malcom in the Middle, Corey and Lucas for the Win, and Gotham, he’s also been featured alongside television sister Emma Kenney in the animated film My Love Affair with Marriage as the voice of Sergei.
Noel Fisher Was Featured On ‘The Connors’ In 2020
Fisher, who starred as Milkovich, a bully, for years on Shameless, was no stranger to the cameras when he signed on to appear on the show. In fact, he was featured on X-Men: Evolution from 2000 to 2003 and landed a two-year role on The Riches shortly thereafter.
More recently, Fisher was featured in Castle Rock and The Red Line.
He was also seen on a few episodes of The Connors in 2020. And, that same year, he nabbed a role in Capone.
