Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson are teaming up on a new film.
On the heels of her latest films, including The Wedding Ringer, Burning Bodhi, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, Why Him?, and Handsome, and his most recent flicks, including The Dirt, The Angry Birds Movie 2, The Jesus Rolls, The King of Staten Island, and The Suicide Squad, Cuoco and Davidson are set to star alongside one another in the romantic comedy Meet Cute, which is currently in production.
‘Meet Cute’ Is About A Date
According to a listing from Backstage, Meet Cute is being directed by Alex Lehmann and was cast by Amey Rene.
"A Manhattanite discovers a time machine in a nail salon and uses it to continually fix elements of a date she had the previous night," read a description of the film, which was said to be going into production this month.
Although an exact start date for production wasn’t given, Entertainment Tonight reported an on-set sighting between Cuoco and Davidson on August 6.
Kaley Cuoco And Pete Davidson Are Bonding On Set
According to the report, Cuoco joked about annoying Davidson on her Instagram Story at the time, saying that getting on his nerves "while he’s studying has become [her] favorite pastime."
"Just trying to learn my lines," Davidson was seen saying as a humored Cuoco danced in the background.
Then, with a second video clip shared to her Instagram Story, Cuoco said Davidson "also hates my music choices which makes things even more fun," and added, "I played ‘Let It Go’ 300 times."
Kaley Cuoco And Pete Davidson Play Sheila And Gary
In the upcoming film, Cuoco, 35, plays Sheila, while Davidson, 27, will be seen in the role of a character named Gary.
In a report shared by Deadline in June, Meet Cute was described as a "wildly inventive deconstruction of the romantic comedy."
Although a release date has not yet been publicly confirmed, it’s safe to say that fans won’t be getting their first look at this film until at least 2022. And, with the resurgence of COVID-19, it’s hard to say whether or not production will move forward seamlessly.
Kaley Cuoco And Pete Davidson Also Have Other Films In The Works
In addition to their upcoming roles in Meet Cute, Cuoco and Davidson will also be seen in a couple of other roles.
In April of this year, Deadline announced that Cuoco’s other new film, The Man From Toronto, which also stars Woody Harrelson and Kevin Hart, was set to be released in January 2022.
One month later, Deadline revealed Davidson would be starring alongside the likes of Lee Pace, Rachel Sennott, Chase Sui Wonders, and Conner O’Malley in Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, which does not yet have a release date.
