At least six zebras are on the loose in the state of Maryland, and even The View host Meghan McCain, the daughter of late Arizona Sen. John McCain, is perplexed by the situation.
As reported by People magazine, the zebras apparently escaped a private farm last week and have been on the loose since.
The animals even entered a private property in Upper Marlboro, prompting resident Alexis Reed Curling to call 311. At first, Curling said, the dispatcher thought she "was crazy."

Catching Zebras
The free-roaming zebras have caused a real headache to animal control officers in Maryland, according to The Guardian.
As Rodney Taylor, chief of Prince George county’s animal services department, explained, "You can’t hunt them down. They’re just too fast, they run, they won’t let you get near them."
"We do have a feeding station set up, and we’re winning their confidence. They are eating there every morning between 2am and 4am," Taylor continued.
He warned that "if you spook them, you’re just pushing them further out. And that’s when it can get dangerous, they can get out on the highway."
Congresswoman Accused Of Letting Zebras Loose
Bizarrely, a U.S. congresswoman is being accused of letting the zebras loose.
As HuffPost reported, a member of the public accused D.C. Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton of freeing the animals.
According to the individual, the fact that Norton values the political principle of "consent of the governed" makes her suspicious and suggests that she may have freed the zebras.
Norton said that she understands why someone would accuse her of letting the zebras roam free, but noted that she had nothing to do with the strange happening.
Meghan McCain Reacts
In a statement, Norton insisted that she has a solid alibi.
"Local news has reported that the zebras were let loose on Saturday or Sunday of last weekend, a period of time during which I was enjoying quiet time at home with family. My alibi is solid," Norton said.
"I can understand why the charge was made," the congresswoman said of the allegations that she freed the zebras. "I hope the owners find the zebras and that all involved live long, full lives," she added.
Her statement attracted the attention of Meghan McCain, who took to Twitter to weigh in on the unusual situation.
Meghan McCain
Meghan McCain has seldom shied away from expressing her opinions and commenting on all sorts of developments, from politics to pop culture.
Earlier this year, for example, she slammed Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, accusing her of making conservatives look "psychotic."
McCain said at the time that Greene harassing elected Democrats — including New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — was highly inappropriate.
"You’re behaving like an animal — harassing AOC like this only gives Democrats what they want which is to paint all of us like we’re psychotic barbarians!" she tweeted.
