Rare Bathroom SelfieYesterday, Raisman shared photos of herself dressed in a black swimsuit with a sarong wrapped around her waist – the same outfit she wore at the Aerie festivity at The Happy Spot in Miami.
Aly doesn't do a lot of bathroom selfies, so the intimate pics are a rare treat for her Instagram followers. She must have been feeling her Miami look, hence the rare selfie of herself getting ready for the event.
"Glowing baby," pal McKayla Maroney commented.
"Beautiful inside and outside. Keep doing great work!" a fan wrote down.
Slowing Down After RetirementAfter retiring in 2020, Raisman has learned to live a more balanced life. She is slowing down when she needs to and only focusing on what truly matters, instead of always having a competitive mindset.
Throughout the pandemic, Aly has been spending her time gardening, practicing yoga, and cuddling with her dogs.
Mental Health AdvocateWorking out has also changed for the ex-gymnast, who now prioritizes mental health over everything.
In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Raisman shared her new approach to fitness.
"When I was training, it was very focused on my weight and how I looked; that was really difficult. Now that I'm not competing anymore, I really try to focus on working out to feel good and for my mental health," she explained.
"I try to focus on doing workouts that make me feel relaxed, happy, and confident, instead of working out to look a certain way."
Social Media BreaksAnother thing she values is time away from social media, which contributes to her anxiety. Aly admitted that she has become dependent on social media apps that she sometimes opens them out of habit.
"I try to really limit the time I'm just scrolling through social media. I've found that when I'm just scrolling through the discovery page or my [Instagram] feed, I never feel better after," she said.
Her advice to others who don't want to be consumed by technology – find the right balance and be mindful of what you consume. "It's all about finding the right balance. We all have the power to change what we're consuming on a daily basis."
