Britney met Sam on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video. He said he was "excited to meet one of the biggest artists of all time," as he spoke to Men’s Health in 2018. "I tried to be funny," he admitted, saying that he joked about not knowing the singer’s name: "I’m sorry, what’s your name again?" he’d joked after Britney introduced herself.
