During a Sunday interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, former President Donald Trump addressed his possible 2024 run for the White House, Breitbart reported.
"Well, I do know my answer, but I can’t reveal it yet, and — because that has to do with campaign financing and everything else," Trump said when pressed on a possible run.
"You know that. So, I can’t reveal it yet. But I absolutely know my answer. And we’re going to do very well. And people are going to be very happy."
Trump Took Aim At Cable Ratings
During his conversation with Bartiromo, Trump slammed cable news and the declining viewership seen across the board.
"And, look, I look at cable ratings. I look at the ratings of CNN. They’re down 79 percent," he said.
As reported by Deadline, cable news ratings have declined from May of last year to the same month this year. Notably, Fox News is down 37 percent, CNN is down 45 percent, and MSNBC is down 22 percent.
Despite the largest drop, Fox News retains the highest viewership.
Trump Is Favored As 2024 GOP Candidate
Trump continues to be favored as the GOP’s 2024 presidential pick.
As reported by Fox News, Trump topped a straw poll taken at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February with 55 percent support.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took second place with 21 percent support. However, when Trump was not included, DeSantis gained 43 percent support.
Still, as The Inquisitr reported, DeSantis topped Trump in a more recent straw poll taken at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver last month.
Specifically, DeSantis gained 74,.12 percent support, while Trump gained 71.48 percent.
Trump Has Teased A 2024 Run For Months
For months, Trump has teased a 2024 run but held off on committing to another presidential campaign.
As reported by The Hill, Trump revealed earlier this month that he has made a decision on whether to run for president in 2024.
According to Trump, a potential run would be out of necessity — not because he wants to.
"We have to take care of this country. I don’t want to, is this fun? Fighting constantly? Fighting always? I mean, the country, what we have done is so important."
Donald Trump Jr. Is Also A Contender
Donald Trump Jr. has also been the focus of speculation for 2024 GOP presidential candidates.
Still, Trump Jr. recently said that he has not considered running, Newsweek reported.
"I haven’t personally thought about it, I mean there’s some people talking about it in terms of polls—I’ve seen a bunch that has me pretty high up the list if not at the top of it. Who knows," he said at the Dallas, Texas CPAC this weekend.
"The reality with that job is you also have to want to do the day job, right. It’s not just about the campaigning."
