FAMILIES in the UK could be forced to sell their homes to pay care bills despite the Government’s proposed £86,000 social care cap. Experts are calling for more “clarity” regarding the new cap as food and accommodation costs appear to be excluded from its purview. Yesterday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a lifetime cap on social care costs of up to £86,000 per person, as well as the National Insurance tax rise to address the country’s growing crisis in the sector.
