FREDDIE MERCURY did not tell his Queen bandmates about his illness just before Live Aid. Bohemian Rhapsody was wrong. He died on November 24, 1991, but only ever told a very small circle of friends about his AIDS diagnosis. He never revealed his illness to his family and even cut some friends out of his life.
