Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart are an example of what a loving, long-lasting relationship should look like. The 79-year-old Star Wars and Indiana Jones legend and the 56-year-old Ally Mcbeal star have been a couple for nearly 20 years, becoming husband and wife a little over a decade ago.

They’re the epitome of glamor and elegance on the red carpet but Ford and Flockhart prefer a different kind of atmosphere at home. The married couple has embraced the country life and is living out their fairytale romance at a ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The 800-acre property they call home is located along Snake River and allows the family to enjoy some quiet, relaxing time away from the bustling city.
According to Parade, Ford deeply cherishes the time he spends at the ranch away from the Hollywood spotlights.
"I’m old news [in Hollywood]. I’ve been there for 35 years,” the actor told the magazine in an interview last year. “When I’m up in Wyoming, I just walk out the door and keep walking,”
Harrison Ford Bought The Ranch When He Was Still Married To His Second Wife
The Blade Runner actor, who has been married twice before, bought the Wyoming ranch in the 80s when he was still together with his second wife, screenwriter Melissa Mathison. They two divorced in 2001 and share two children, son Malcolm, 34, and daughter Georgia, 31.
At the time Ford first purchased the ranch, which he helped design, "Jackson Hole was just a quiet little town in the Teton Mountains," writes Wide Open Country.
Thanks to its secluded area and breathtaking scenery, the farm has remained a personal sanctuary for Ford, who is notoriously private and has a deep love for nature. In fact, the actor is so invested in conservation that he has donated around half of the estate he now shares with Flockhart as a nature reserve, per Virtual Globetrotting.
Harrison Ford Flies His Family To The Ranch Himself
Ford loves flying Flockhart and the children out to Wyoming for some quality family time any chance they get. The actor has been a licensed pilot for 25 years and insists on doing the honors himself.
Not only does he make sure he gets to see his five children regularly — Ford shares two other sons with his first wife Mary Marquardt (Benjamin, 55, and Willard, 52) and has legally adopted Flockhart’s adoptive son, Liam, 19 — but he also puts his piloting skills in the service of the local community.
According to Virtual Globetrotting, "he has personally provided emergency helicopter services at the request of local authorities, in one instance rescuing a hiker overcome by dehydration."
Harrison Ford Prides Himself On Living A ‘Normal’ Life At The Ranch
While it’s clear that Ford and Flockhart adore entertaining their family at the ranch, the Air Force One actor also takes great pleasure in doing simple chores.
"I need balance," he told The Land Report back in 2007. "I need to be in a situation where my every whim is not attended to, where I have to fetch my own nails, do my own shopping, and wash my own dishes."
The Hollywood star prides himself on living a "normal" life at the ranch.
"Being normal is a kind of victory. I’ll fix a fence, repair a piece of equipment, or plow the driveway if there’s snow. There’s always plenty of work to do."
When he’s not tending to his chores, Ford loves taking to the air or doing other things to keep active.
“If my chores are done and there’s nothing more pressing and the weather’s good, I’ll go flying — I love to fly up there — or walk in the woods, do some work, ride my road bike or mountain bike,” he told Parade.
