Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have been "feuding" on social media since 2017 and show no signs of slowing down. In fact, during a recent interview, Jackman suggested that others should follow in his lead by poking fun at his fellow actor.
While speaking to Fox News, Jackman, 52, said that he loves going back and forth with Reynolds, 44, on the internet and spotlight one of his latest disses.
As some may have seen, Jackman recently pointed out that Reynolds was left out of an industry event.
Hugh Jackman Claims Ryan Reynolds Was Left Out Of ‘Free Guy’ Party
In a post shared to Jackman’s social media pages, including Instagram and Twitter, he was seen in a photo having drinks with the director of Reynolds’ latest film, Free Guy, Shawn Levy. And, in the caption of said photo, Jackman suggested Reynolds was actually left off the guest list.
"What’s that @slevydirect? You forgot to invite @vancityreynolds to your party? Mate, no worries. Your secret is safe with me. And … post," Jackman shared with his fans and followers in July.
Hugh Jackman Met Ryan Reynolds When He Was Married To Scarlett Johansson
As some may know, Jackman and Reynolds met on the set of X-Men Origins: Wolverine after Reynolds married Jackman’s friend, actress Scarlett Johansson.
"I met him back on ‘Wolverine,’ and I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett [Johansson], and Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, ‘Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I’m watching,’" Jackman recalled in April 2020.
"And we started ribbing each other that way, and then it all escalated with the ‘Deadpool’ thing and him calling me out, and trying to manipulate me through social media to do what he wanted," he added.
Hugh Jackman Is Close With The ‘Free Guy’ Director
Jackman went on to say that when it comes to his relationship with Renolds’ latest director, the two of them have a strong friendship.
"I worked with [director] [Shawn Levy] 10 years ago and we’re still friends but anyway… it’s a lot of fun," continued Jackman. "There’s no doubt it’s a lot of fun because let’s face it, it’s one of the great – it should be an Olympic sport – trolling Ryan Reynolds, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be out there for the gold, but I think everyone would enjoy the sport. I think every kid should do it."
Hugh Jackman Wants To Get Serious About ‘Trolling Ryan Reynolds’
While Reynolds and Johansson ultimately split in 2011, his relationship with Jackman has lived on, much to the pleasure of their many social media followers, who love to see the actors taking petty digs at one another from time to time.
And, if Jackman has it his way, "trolling Ryan Reynolds" will soon become an actual sport.
"It’s going to be an Olympic sport and I’m going to make sure it happens," Jackman told Fox News. "In Australia, we got the Olympics for 2032 so I’ve got 12 years to get that in there, although in 12 years’ time, Ryan’s career will…you know, it’s over."
