MLB News: David Cone Says Yankees Have Found The Perfect Lineup

The New York Yankees are riding an MLB-best 10-game winning streak. Their starting rotation has been lights out, their bullpen has been solid, and Aaron Boone may have finally found the right lineup to make the most of their offense.

Even with Joey Gallo struggling and now out with injury, the Bronx Bombers are looking like the team to beat in the AL East.

David Cone Lauds Aaron Boone's Decision

The Yankees are going with:

1. DJ LeMahieu, 3B

2. Aaron Judge, CF

3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B

4. Giancarlo Stanton, RF

5. Josh Donaldson, DH

6. Aaron Hicks, LF

7. Gleyber Torres, 2B

8. Isiah Kiner-Falefa, SS

9. Jose Trevino, C

That lineup drew plenty of praise from former Yankees grade David Cone, stating that it's the best they can use right now:

"If you think about moving forward, what’s the best lineup the Yankees can throw out there," Cone said. "Well, you know they’re going to shift it around a little bit. There’s going to be sort of that built-in day off for one guy. But this lineup (Monday) makes sense. If Gleyber Torres is Gleyber Torres, then Aaron Judge playing center field, the fact that Stanton can play right field opens this all up for the Yankees and for Aaron Boone."The Yankees Seem Sold On Torres

Cone also claimed that Josh Donaldson, not Giancarlo Stanton, should hold on to the starting DH spot as the Yankees still think Gleyber Torres can excel at second base:

"If you really think Gleyber Torres is your answer at second base and DJ LeMahieu can play third, Donaldson can DH ‘cause Stanton is in right field, and the play he made just gives you even more confidence that he can spend more time out there in right field, and that opens up everything for the Yankees lineup," Cone added. The Yankees Are Getting Their Groove Back, Says Anthony Rizzo

Anthony Rizzo has been posting MVP-caliber numbers. Per the former Cubs star, it was just a matter of time before they found their groove and proved what they're capable off:

“Just the work, the focus and the preparation that has finally paid off," Rizzo said. "(We’re) just getting into the ebb and flow of the season, and I think everyone’s settling in nicely.’’They Need To Stay Strong At Home

For Rizzo, the key will be to continue thriving at home to get the fans involved as the weather starts to go up and the bats start getting hotter:

“I think playing well at home is going to energize our fan base more and more throughout the summer, especially as it warms up. I think guys are settling in more, getting more comfortable with their routine," Rizzo added.

The Yankees are looking to put an end to their World Series title and, while it's still early in the season, they seem right on track.
