As expected coming into the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the best teams in all of baseball. Sitting at 56-29, Los Angeles has now won nine out of their last 10 games and are in first place in the NL West.
Although the Dodgers are one of the best teams in baseball, they typically go out at the trade deadline and make some impressive moves.
Who Could They Add At The Deadline? There are a few interesting moves that the Dodgers could decide to make at the MLB trade deadline. Current rumors are saying that they could be going after a few hitters and also attempt to get Luis Castillo. If they were to get Luis Castillo from the Cincinnati Reds, they would be in a great position.
According to Jon Morosi,
"Sources: Dodgers and Reds have had preliminary trade conversations about RHP Luis Castillo. Many clubs are showing interest in Castillo, of course. Long way to go before Aug. 2 trade deadline, but Dodgers are definitely involved."
Hitters They Could AddThere have been some hitters that the Dodgers have also been linked to. They could decide to go out and have guys like Andrew Benintendi, Nelson Cruz, or some other sluggers.
It's going to be interesting to see what type of bat the Dodgers go after because they are loaded on the offensive side of the ball. However, a few recent reports have suggested that they are still going to add a few bats just to make themselves even better.
Dodgers Are Playing Well AlreadyThere is a legitimate argument to be made that the Los Angeles Dodgers are already the best team in all of baseball. They're currently 56-29 and are 7.5 games ahead of the second-place San Diego Padres in the National League West.
The Best Always Look To Get BetterIf there's one thing that the Dodgers have done throughout the past few years is go out and make sure that they add a few guys at the MLB trade deadline. The best can always get better and it would be crazy to think that the Dodgers aren't going to go out and make some impressive moves. Considering some of the injuries that they've had to deal with this year, the Dodgers are going to be spenders at this year's deadline.
It's going to be interesting to see what they do, but the Dodgers are going to continue putting themselves in positions to win.
