The Golden State Warriors are once again where they were always supposed to be. They reached the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight seasons under Steve Kerr, and right after missing the postseason for the past two years.
And while it's been a huge team effort and they're stacked with talent, the Warriors were, have been, and will be Stephen Curry's team until further notice.
Vince Carter Calls Curry An Unselfish SuperstarAnd perhaps one of the things that make Curry so unique is the fact that he continues to be humble and down to earth despite his superstar status, according to Vince Carter:
"Steph is an unselfish superstar, and he's willing to put the ball in the hands of the hot player or the guy who is going or get guys going and that's one of the things that's great about him is that Steph does not need to have the ball to be effective," Carter said on ESPN's Get Up.Curry's Off-Screen Movement Is EliteCurry is always on the move. He runs through screens, makes defenders dizzy, and is always there to knock down a wide-open shot:
"His ball movement, his ability to move off the screens and say yes they switch and everything, but you have to have once again the defensive discipline, cause once again when Steph Curry is running off a high double screen or a low baseline screen," Carter added. His Presence Makes A Huge ImpactCurry can also make an impact without having the ball in his hands. His presence draws way too much defensive attention and it allows his teammates to get to their spots with ease:
"Well, guess what? Eyes are following him, points switching sometimes and your attentions there and you can run action for Jordan Poole or Klay Thompson on the other side because of the defense has to pay attention to him," Carter concluded.Curry Won't Get Too Confident Ahead Of The FinalsCurry will look to win his fourth ring in six tries. But even though the Warriors are favored by oddsmakers, he won't sleep on the Celtics:
“[They] got some guys playing at a really high level, very well-rounded team, they got the size,” Curry said. “We like the matchup in terms of confidence going in, knowing we can win, but there’s obvious respect in terms of what they present as a team."Curry is already one of the winningest players in NBA history, so capturing that Finals MVP award will only make his legacy even more impressive.
