When the 2020-21 NBA season came to an end, most people are expecting the Golden State Warriors to resume their search for their fourth superstar this summer. Though they are set to have their championship core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green back next season, the Warriors must be aware that they need additional star power on their roster to have a realistic chance of fully dominating the loaded Western Conference and winning the 2022 NBA championship title.
Bradley Beal Remains At The Top Of Warriors’ Wish List
In the past months, the Warriors have already been linked to several NBA superstars who are rumored to be available on the trading block. These include All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards. In July, Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic revealed that Beal is at the top of Golden State’s wishlist.
The Warriors reportedly considered Beal as the "best player and best fit" for them among the superstars who could be available on the trade market in the 2021 offseason.
Latest Blockbuster Trade Idea To Acquire Bradley Beal
In a recent article, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report created a list of trade ideas involving some of the superstars who are frequently mentioned in various trade speculations. These include the hypothetical blockbuster deal that would finally send Beal to Bay Area.
In the proposed trade scenario, the Warriors would be sending a package that includes James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody, and Jonathan Kuminga to the Wizards in exchange for Beal and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Accepting the Warriors’ offer would be extremely beneficial for the Wizards, especially if they finally decide to tear their roster down and undergo a full-blown rebuild.
Warriors Form Three-Headed Monster In Their Backcourt
Trading Wiseman, Wiggins, Moody, and Kuminga for Beal should be a no-brainer for the Warriors, especially if they are serious about maximizing the championship window of Curry, Thompson, and Green. Beal would be an incredible addition to the Warriors. He would tremendously improve their performance on the offensive end of the floor and allow them to create a three-headed monster in their backcourt with Curry and Thompson.
In Beal, the Warriors would be getting a prolific scorer, a decent playmaker, and an elite three-point shooter. With his ability to excel in an off-ball capacity, he won’t have a hard time making himself fit alongside the trio of Curry, Thompson, and Green.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Serves As The Warriors’ Sixth Man
Caldwell-Pope isn’t only included in the deal for salary-matching purposes. With his championship experience, he would be a valuable acquisition for a team that is seriously aiming to capture the Larry O’Brien Trophy in the 2021-22 NBA season. The 28-year-old shooting guard would give the Warriors a very reliable sixth man who could serve as the primary backup for Thompson and Beal next year.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr could also use Caldwell-Pope alongside Curry, Thompson, Beal, and Green if he wants to use their infamous "Death Lineup."
