Olympian Chloe Kim Shows Good Heart In Tight Leggings

Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim has been reminding Instagram that some promos can come gently. The 21-year-old Gold medalist has a wide portfolio of brands she endorses on social media – while the star regularly promotes the likes of Roxy and Oakley, it was king-pin Nike getting a shout-out in 2021, but not without a mention of the planet.

Chloe, followed by 698,000 on Instagram, shared a studio shot of herself in a red-and-black look, but the message from the California native was green.

'Real Snow Has Become A Luxury'

Scroll for the snap and a video. Referencing global warming from the get-go, Kim posed with a slight smile from a purple-lit floor while rocking a clingy black pair of leggings and a casual, sporty red jacket worn open. The 2018 Winter Olympics face, with her hair loose around her shoulders, also sported white-and-red Nike sneakers, with a caption opening:

"The climate crisis is affecting my sport and athletes all over the world. Real snow has become a luxury." More after the snap.

Chloe continued: "And as temperatures and snowfall change, so will access to winter sports. Doing our research and raising our collective voice is the first step to contributing to a more sustainable future." The star then encouraged her followers to "check the link in my bio to learn more about how we can help protect the places we love! @nike @ayanaeliza @youthtopia.world @onemillionofus."

The post has now topped 10,000 likes. It came announced as a paid partnership with Nike. More after the video.

Trusting Her Gut

July 2021 marked Chloe’s Nike join – the sportswear giant boasts celebrity endorsers from tennis pro Serena Williams to soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, but the brand last year lost gymnast Simone Biles as she ditched Nike for feminine-forward Athleta.

"Beyond excited to join the Class of Fall 2021 for @nikeโ€™s Fall LookBook campaign. When I took a year off snowboarding to go to school, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it ended up giving me exactly what I needed to stop doubting myself and just be me," Kim wrote last summer.

The Long Beach native continued: "Don’t be afraid to trust your gut and do you! #teamnike @nikelosangeles @nikewomen."

The post did, however, garner shade, with one bitter-sounding user writing: "You must be getting a good payday from Nike even though they’re made by China’s slaves.. and now you want to preacher to Americans about climate change๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I used to be a huge fan of yours disappointing."

Kim’s IG following may be modest, but it’s got a star presence – both rapper Chanel West Coast and gymnast Aly Raisman follow her.
