Whitney Rose is speaking out about the dramatic moment in which her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast mate, Jen Shah, was forced to get off the bus that was supposed to be taking the ladies to a girls trip and was ultimately arrested.
After Bravo shared a sneak peek in which Shah was seen getting a call and proceeding to look scared as she left the bus amid police activity, Rose spoke to Hollywood Life about the shocking moment.
Whitney Rose Initially Thought It Was A Joke
“We had Homeland Security, NYPD, Swat Team there, FBI,” Rose recalled during a September 12 interview. “I didn’t even know what Homeland Security was, the HSI. I thought they were strippers and Jen was pulling a fast one. But once we realized and looked outside of the party bus and we saw the SWAT team and the armed vehicles, we were like, ‘Woah. What is happening?’"
According to Rose, she has a hard time explaining what happened because it was so surprising.
Whitney Rose Didn’t Have Much Information At First
"I can’t even put it into words. Just pure shock. That’s what I felt," Rose continued. "We didn’t have much information. All of the information was just coming in and once we decided to continue to hit the road, at that point in time, we only thought that Jen was at the hospital with Sharrief having some medical issues. When that article was sent to me, I gasped for air and I think you can see the terror on my face. Like wow, this is real."
Whitney Rose Felt Torn Amid Jen Shah’s Legal Drama
After learning about the serious allegations of fraud and money laundering against Shah, Rose said she felt torn about how exactly she was going to remain in Shah’s life.
"How I’m choosing to show up for Jen has been one of the most challenging things that I’ve experienced,” she said. “It’s been a huge growth spurt for me because while this is all about Jen and had nothing to do with me, it is my responsibility to choose what kind of friend I am and how I’m going to show up. It’s no secret that Jen and I’s relationship has not been an easy one. We’ve had our own ups and downs and rocky road, but I chose to match Jen to wherever she’s at with me. So whatever Jen gives me, I give it back to her. If she’s being kind, I’ll be kind to her.”
Whitney Rose Got More Real For ‘RHOSLC’ Season Two
Speaking of how season two differs from season one, Rose said that she was much more comfortable showing the cameras who she truly is during her second time filming the Bravo reality show.
"I’m definitely not afraid to show too many sides to me. The second season was a lot more comfortable," she stated.
