Mike Shouhed and Paulina Ben-Cohen went through a very public sexting scandal amid the ninth season of Shahs of Sunset. However, despite the messy situation, which was allegedly prompted by Shouhed’s boredom amid the coronavirus quarantine, the couple ended up in a better place than ever once it came time to film the series’ reunion special.
According to a report from E! News, Shouhed, who has been featured on the Bravo show since its start in 2012, shared some huge news amid the special.
Mike Shouhed and Paulina Ben-Cohen Engaged, Living Together in Los Angeles
As the cast sat on couches around host Andy Cohen during the first half of the Shahs of Sunset reunion in August, Shah confirmed that after several years of dating, he and Ben-Cohen were officially engaged.
While also saying that the two of them were living together in Los Angeles as they showed off Ben-Cohen’s stunning diamond ring, Shouhed said he was exited to share the news with his cast mates.
"I want to share something with you guys," he stated. "We’re engaged… And we wanted to share that with everybody today."
Mike Shouhed and Paulina Ben-Cohen Are Not Getting a Prenup
As the Shahs of Sunset season nine reunion continued, Shouhed revealed that he proposed to Ben-Cohen, a mother of two during a vacation in Hawaii.
"I actually asked her son his permission to marry his mommy, and I gave him the ring," Shouhed said. "And we were in Hawaii, and I planned with the concierge where the most beautiful part of the beach was gonna be."
Following the sharing of the news, Shouhed and Ben-Cohen shocked their co-stars as they confirmed they would not be signing a prenuptial agreement before they wed.
Paulina Ben-Cohen Would Not Sign a Prenup
As for why Shouhed and Ben-Cohen won’t be signing a prenup before their wedding, she said she was against the idea completely.
"I would not marry someone if I felt that I need to protect myself," she said. "In my eyes, that’s not a marriage. Then I’ll just date someone."
Ben-Cohen then gushed about the love she has for the real estate mogul.
"The love and the connection that we have with each other, like, I would not be able to live a day without him in my life," she admitted.
Mike Shouhed Learned From His Sexting Scandal
Prior to his proposal, Shouhed told E! News in May that he would be getting down on one knee soon.
"We’ve discussed moving forward in our relationship, hopefully getting engaged, getting married, having children, adding to the beautiful family we already have," he said.
Shouhed also told the outlet the sexting scandal "was a learning experience, and I realize that I shouldn’t do that."
Shouhed and his cast mates will likely return to Bravo for a 10th season of Shahs of Sunset next summer but a premiere date has not yet been set.
