STROKE is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, but not all incidents are characterised by overt symptoms. A transient ischaemic attack – or mini stroke – will often be brushed off as a minor mishap. These transient symptoms, however, often signal a subsequent fatal or disabling stroke.
