TOM HANKS is used to playing the hero in films. But in his latest, Elvis, the biopic following the rise and fall of Elvis Presley, Hanks takes on the villainous Colonel Tom Parker. Far from the physically large, “cheap crook”, that he depicts on screen, when at the London premiere for the Baz Luhrmann masterpiece Hanks’ incredibly thin frame worried fans, with some wondering if it was down to his incurable health condition.
