With NL East clinched, Phillies’ Canadian manager wants 1st-round bye

The Philadelphia Phillies hold the No. 2 spot in the National League behind the Los Angeles Dodgers and would earn a first-round bye should the standings hold. “The biggest things for me are winning the division and getting the bye,” said Phillies manager Rob Thomson, from Corunna, Ont.
