Zendaya didn’t just rock up to the event. She walked away as the youngest ever winner of the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Fashion Icon Award. The party was this year attended by stars including actress Dove Cameron, Netflix star Anya Taylor-Joy, supermodel EmilyRatajkowski, plus singer Ciara.
Zendaya has been making fashion headlines for years – she even once boasted her own collection with American designer Tommy Hilfiger. Speaking to Refinery29, she outlined why freedom of style means so much to her.

Opening up to the media outlet, the former Disney star revealed:
"There’s something so honest and real about personal style and being fashion fearless and just wearing whatever you want, however you want. I just really admire that courageousness."
"I’m like, what does Zendaya dress like when she’s not fully dressed, when I’m not giving a look? Who is that? What does that look like? And we basically made clothes that I could selfishly steal for my personal life, in my phase of who I’m coming into, who I’m figuring out," she added.
